What is General Convention Anyway?

General Convention is a big deal.  It might seem like a lot of pomp and circumstance, but the heart of General Convention is about the Episcopal Church setting aside time to come together to acknowledge that we are connected to one another, to make decisions collectively and collaboratively that build the church and set the course for our work.

Just like at ECMN convention, there are folks who are elected to represent each Diocese in the Episcopal Church.  Those elected are referred to as Deputies, and these deputies work together across Diocesan lines to make the decisions and build the work.

There’s a lot of work that happens at General Convention, and a lot of work that happens as a result of General Convention.  To keep up with it all, check out the General Convention page here.
